Sydney Taivavashe - Cinematographer



Sydney Taivavashe( born March 20,1991) is a Zimbabwean Film director, screenwriter, producer, and editor. He first found success with the educational drama hit Tamba Wakachenjera and went on to make the first action film to come out of Masvingo titled  Through the night and he is the Cinematographer and co-editor of the latest Sabhuku Vharazipi 2. His films are characterized by nonlinear storylines and aestheticization of violence. Taivavashe has been dubbed Africa's s Steven Spielberg by his peers due his creatity and commanding and yet innovative approach in his films and at 22 Taivavashe is the youngest professional Film director in Zimbabwe.
Growing up, he wasn't really based in one town, he moved from town to town with his mother. He attended Temeraire Primary School this is where his dream for film making began. He dropped out of college just after two terms as a marketing student to pursue his film making dream.  Taivavashe  made his first film when he was 16 years old while he was staying at his uncle's house in Harare , there he met a cousin  Nelson Taivavashe who had a passion for film making as well and together they founded the company Nelned Studios and began production by making short horror films.
He is also the co-founder of Masvingo Filmmaker Guild an association of filmmakers where he is also the Vice-Chairperson.

Final 'Fisher' Muzerengwa



Final Muzerengwa ( Magical Films Studio) was born on 16 December 1989 and is a university graduate with a bachelor of social sciences degree from great Zimbabwe University, a graphics designer,a film producer and a film editor. He started his works as a simple media technician at Harvest House International Church Masvingo where he was the chief editor of church sermons and graphics designs. His first successful project was the Live DVD recording for Welcome Nhariswa and The Cherubims done early 2013,which is probably the third group to do live DVD recording in Zimbabwe after Shingisai Suluma and the popular group Zimpraise. He is one of the cinematographers on Sabhuku Vharazipi 2 and also the co-editor. Final has made his name in Masvingo circles as he is seen as one of the best video editors around town.
Growing up he was so passionate with computers and started to use a home computer when he was 11 years old and started designing at the age of 18. He never did computers or any editing lessons rather he achieved all of this on his own with his computer at home. His dream is to have a Media house that matches international standards here in Zimbabwe.

Kumbirai Chikonye aka Mbuya Mai John



Kumbirai Chikonye

Born on the 8th of September 1982, Kumbirai started acting career in secondary school. She joined Ziya soon after completing her O-Levels in 1999. She is the longest serving female member of the Trust. 

This was probably because she got married to Wellington Chindara, also a professional actor, and both believed in the arts as a viable industry. 
Her shared belief has soon manifested itself in the success of their first DVD Sabhuku Vharazipi. As the heroine in the play, she is the subject of a lot of admiration from fans.

 She was a natural for the role after having won provincial auditions to act in the touring plays Dare Enkundleni and Super Patriots and morons respectively. She has since become a mature actress and is able to take up any role thrown at her.

Major Highlights of Kumbirai's career:

1.Successfully auditioning for the provincial version of the regionally touring production Dare Enkundleni in   2001
2. Successfully auditioning for the provincial version of the regionally touring production in 2005.
3. Taking the major supporting role in the icebreaking production Sabhuku Vharazipi
4 .Being one of the trustees in the newly formed Ziya Cultural Arts Trust
